Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Document Controller to join a government entity in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This contract position will run until the end of the specified term, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the operations of a tax office. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and efficient in handling administrative tasks and customer interactions. Responsibilities: - Assist the public by performing front counter functions in the Treasurer's office. - Provide daily support to customers, answering questions related to taxes. - Process payments accurately and efficiently. - Manage and reconcile the cash drawer to ensure balanced transactions. - Organize and handle document scanning and control duties. - Compile and maintain records and documentation in compliance with procedures. - Deliver courteous service while addressing inquiries. - Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing financial transactions. - Collaborate with coworkers to ensure smooth daily operations. Requirements - At least 2 years of administrative experience, including handling cash transactions. - Proficiency in document control and scanning processes. - Ability to compile and organize documentation effectively. - Familiarity with local tax procedures and regulations. - Strong customer service skills with the ability to address public inquiries. - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities. - Bilingual candidates are preferred but not required.
