About the role
The Web Developer – SwishTech is responsible for building, maintaining, and improving SwishTech’s web presence, including the public website and e-commerce storefront. Reporting to the E-Commerce Manager and working closely with Product, Design, and Marketing teams, this role ensures SwishTech’s websites are fast, reliable, visually consistent, and conversion-focused in a global, remote-first organisation.
This is a hands-on development role focused on frontend and web platform execution.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development & Maintenance
Develop and maintain SwishTech’s websites and web storefront
Implement responsive, accessible, and performance-optimised layouts
Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
Frontend Implementation & UX
Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality web experiences
Implement UI components, interactions, and animations
Ensure a consistent and intuitive user experience
E-Commerce & Integration Support
Support integration with e-commerce, payment, and backend systems
Implement product pages, checkout flows, and content updates
Assist with launch readiness for new products and campaigns
Performance, SEO & Reliability
Optimise site performance, load times, and Core Web Vitals
Support SEO best practices and structured content
Monitor and fix bugs, issues, and regressions
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with designers, marketers, and product teams
Maintain clean, documented, and maintainable code
Contribute ideas for improving usability and conversion

Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Operate effectively in a fully remote environment
Requirements
Experience
Proven experience as a web developer or frontend-focused engineer
Experience building production websites or e-commerce platforms
Experience working in remote or distributed teams preferred
Skills
Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills
Experience with modern frontend frameworks or libraries
Understanding of responsive design and accessibility principles
Basic understanding of web performance and SEO
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Web or frontend certifications preferred but not required
