Job Description

The Mobile MR Technologist travels with the mobile MR truck and assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and safely operating the MR equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

Education:

• High School or GED required
• Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program required
• 2 Year / Associate Degree preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of one year of experience in MR required

License/Certification:

• Certified and registered by ARRT in MR – RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) required
• IV Credentialed required
• Applicable state license required

Additional Skills/Requirements:

• Well versed in MRI safety issues such as medical prosthetics and implants as well as general magnet care and safety.
• Ensure patient safety including pre- screening.
• Cultivate and maintain effective communication with customers and radiologist.
• Capable of troubleshooting the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment as to insure we provide only the highest quality of MRI studies.
• May be called on to train and mentor new technologist and Radiology Operations Assistants.
• Required flexibility with schedule changes.
• Travel is regularly required.
• Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, analytical ability and basic computer skills.
• Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
