Schmitz Ready Mix is a family owned business that primarily focuses on the manufacturing and delivery of concrete for various construction projects.

Looking for an IT Systems Administrator for the following Wisconsin location: Milwaukee Main Office

Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our company’s IT infrastructure.

This role includes managing software and hardware installations, updating systems, setting up user accounts, troubleshooting system errors, deploying and maintaining PCs, documenting network and IT systems, providing technical support and providing end-user training.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT systems, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in a team setting.

They should be familiar with Windows OS, iOS, Windows Active Directory, database management, and some network configuration.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure software and hardware
• Manage network servers and technology tools including monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
• Provide 1st level technical support and help desk support to users by responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
• Set up accounts and workstations
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and outages
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
• Assist with off hours upgrades and maintenance
• Ensuring data is backed up and systems are secure from unauthorized access
• Testing and evaluating new technology

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role a plus
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (e.g. Windows Desktop and Server, iOS, Android, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Exchange and IP phones)
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• BS/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline is a plus

Additional Information

• Job Title: IT Systems Administrator
• Work Environment: In Office work. Some local same-day travel Green Bay down to Lake Geneva may be required for installations or troubleshooting at various sites.
• Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Information Technology.
• Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
• Pay Range: $60,000 minimum to $80,000 maximum
• Location: Milwaukee, WI
• Employment Type: Full-time
