Housekeeping/Laundry Aide Job Title : Housekeeping Aide

Reports to: Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor
Position Type: Full Time with rotating weekends Description The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. This role includes cleaning resident rooms, common areas, in accordance with facility standards, infection control policies, and safety regulations.
Housekeeping Aide Responsibilities: - Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas according to schedule and procedures.
- Dust, mop, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces as assigned.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow proper infection control and isolation cleaning procedures.
- Use appropriate chemicals and cleaning solutions as directed.
- Report needed repairs or maintenance issues to supervisor.
- Maintain housekeeping cart and storage areas in a clean, organized manner.
- Provide respectful and courteous service to residents and staff
Position Requirements: - Demonstrates Professionalism.
- Adhere to predetermined work dates and times.
- Regular scheduled attendance is required.
- Complete assignments in a timely manner as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with all departments.
- Consistently professional in appearance.
Qualification : - High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred, especially in healthcare.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of equipment.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Positive attitude and commitment to resident satisfaction.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Frequently lift up to 10-25 lbs.
- Use hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals such as disinfectants, cleaners, soap, etc.
- Exposure to latex gloves and other personal protective equipment.
- Occasional exposure to blood/body fluids as required providing resident care.
- Occasional exposure to microbial bacteria and other infectious agents inherent to care for older adults.
