Job Description

Job Summary:

The Sit-Down Forklift Operator is responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to load, unload, move, and stage materials and products in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution facility. The operator ensures safe and efficient material handling while maintaining accuracy in inventory and supporting daily production or shipping schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials.
• Transport products, pallets, and other items throughout the warehouse or production area.
• Inspect forklift equipment daily and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Follow all safety guidelines, warehouse procedures, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory transactions.
• Assist with order picking, staging, and shipping as needed.
• Keep work area clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments.

Job Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (sit-down type) as per OSHA standards.
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory systems.
  • Ability to read and understand shipping documents, labels, and safety instructions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
